The Grand Am was a hybrid of the Grand Prix and Trans Am, hence the name Grand Am. It offered muscle car and luxury car features in one model. This is a very stylish car that you rarely see.
EXTERIOR: I really like the design. Starting up front with the vertical chrome louvered grill and a pointed nose the carries on into the hood. It has quarter panel louvered windows and a landau top. I love the sculpted lines of the rear quarters, kinda like fenders off a 1930s speedster. The body is really solid, I don't see any signs of rust or damage. It does have some blisters next to the trim by the vinyl top. Overall the paint has a shiny white finish. It is not perfect. The rally ll wheels and were painted, the trim rings look real nice. The tires look recent. The windshield is crystal clear. Original weather strips are still good.
INTERIOR: Luxurious and sporty interior. The bucket seats are extra comfortable and are upholstered in a rich cloth. In between them is a console and a floor shifter. The woodgrain dash has a full set of gauges including a tachometer. The cushion grip sport wheel is on a tilt column. It also features power windows, power seat, factory AM FM radio. Overall it's in good shape.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has the optional 455 motor which is vin # matched to this car. It's all stock including the manifolds, complete air cleaner assembly with chrome valve covers. It features power steering, power brakes, air conditioning and cruise control. The motor compartment is clean and proper.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Giant trunk compartment has rock solid metal. It has been neatly spatter painted. Bottom of the trunk lid and the jamb look like they could be the original paint. Weather strip is in real nice shape.
UNDERSIDE: Underneath this car is very well preserved. It's actually not greasy or rusty (other then insignificant surface rust). The floors are mint, there's no patches. No rotten or flaky metal, even the chassis components are smooth and clean metal. The front end is good, the sway bar bushings, tie rod ends and miscellaneous parts look like they've been replaced. In back it has air shocks and a sway bar. It has a full dual exhaust system. Disc brakes in front, the E-brake assembly is hooked up. It has it's original VIN number matching turbo 400 automatic and in back it has it's original rear end with 3.08 gears.
The mid 70s car's are very nostalgic to today's buyers. The number 1 watched video on our YouTube tube channel is a 1976 Grand Prix. There is a lot of interest in these cars!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year membership.

    About Volo Auto Museum
No other collector car dealer has been in business longer than the Volo Auto Museum.  Owned and operated by the Grams family since 1960.  We are the only collector car dealer that has 4 generations of experience with buying, selling and consigning classic autos.  For our family, classic cars are more than a business, it is a passion.  Over the decades, we have maintained a reputation for dealing with integrity as proven with our high reviews and A+ rating with the BBB.
Buying a classic car can be exciting, but also stressful.  We want to take the stress out of your buying experience by allowing you the time and tools you need to get to know the car you are interested in before making your investment, not after.  Unlike auctions, we allow test drives, 3rd party inspections, the use of our shop and car lift.  No reasonable request will be turned down.
Selling a car can be equally stressful, but it doesn’t have to be.  After reviewing your quality collector car, we will discuss the options we have available to you and let you decide what works best for you.  We have cash available for immediate sales and we also offer a consignment program that surpasses anyone else’s.   Unlike percentage based programs with fees; we work with a no fee, net to owner.  This allows us the opportunity to treat and market your car as if it were our own.  We invest approximately 00 of our own money into marketing your car, which means if it doesn’t sell, we lose, not you.  So, we are more aggressive in selling your car!
